Il Marengo con il Galletto e la Marianna è una moneta d'oro ricchissima di storia che ha resistito al passare del tempo.​

Sul dritto dei 20 Franchi di Marianna e il Galletto è raffigurato, rivolto verso destra, il ritratto di Marianne. Marianne è un emblema nazionale della Repubblica francese: allegoria di libertà, diritto e ragione, personificazione della dea della libertà. La sua immagine è esposta in molti luoghi pubblici in Francia e tiene un posto d'onore nei municipi e nei tribunali. Nel 1999 l'attrice francese e modella Laetitia Casta è stata scelta dal popolo francese (in un sondaggio nazionale) per essere il nuovo volto Marianne.​

Sul retro delle monete si trova l’immagine del Gallo gallico (Coq Gaulois),che rappresenta simbolicamente la ricca storia e la cultura francese fin dal Medioevo. ​

Il Galletto ha svolto un ruolo importante durante la Rivoluzione Francese come immagine di vigilanza rivoluzionaria, di fiducia e fierezza. L’iscrizione presente sul retro della moneta è il motto diventato famoso in tutto il mondo: "Liberté Egalité Fraternitè". Un'altra iscrizione ai piedi delle monete d’oro da 20 Franchi di Marianna e il Galletto è la denominazione di "20 FCS" e l'anno di conio.​
