Le monete d'oro da 20 Franchi Belgi di Leopoldo II, re del Belgio dal 1865 al 1909, sono i Marengo coniati nel XIX secolo durante il suo regno. Talvolta Leopoldo II è ricordato come il 'Re Costruttore' per i molti edifici commissionati a Bruxelles, Ostenda e Anversa sotto il suo regno. La memoria del Re di Belgio Leopoldo II è vivida anche per la colonizzazione del Congo del 1876. ​

La produzione di questi Marengo d’oro del Belgio è avvenuta tra il 1876 e il 1882. Esistono diverse versioni di queste monete; alcune riportano le iscrizioni in francese, altre in fiammingo. ​
